We've heard of trackpads for notebooks and laptops, but for computers? Apple have come out with a trackpad, which they've named, the Magic Trackpad, that can be used to work with the Mac desktop PC. With this new trackpad, you can do away with your mouse. It lets you use your fingers to work on the Mac PC.
Ever owned or worked with a MacBook Pro? You can expect the same kind of functionality with the Apple Magic Trackpad as the MacBook Pro's trackpad; the only differences being – the Magic Trackpad has a larger surface area and you can use it to control things on a computer (Mac) as well as a MacBook [Guesses are - it should work with any PC or laptop running the right Mac OS X. However this is not tested yet]. It is said to have the same kind of touch surface as the MacBook Pro trackpad. The dimensions of the Magic Trackpad is made such that it can be placed alongside the Apple Wireless Keyboard, and worked on comfortably.
The Apple Magic Trackpad communicates with your Mac or MacBook via Bluetooth. This multi-touch capable trackpad lets you do the following:-
Click or double click anywhere on its surface for performing an operation or opening something.
Scroll vertically, horizontally or diagonally with 2 fingers.
Swipe through pages using a natural swipe gesture with 3 fingers.
Rotate an image clockwise or the other way around, by using 2 fingers (using the thumb and index would be easiest).
The Magic trackpad is powered by 2 AA batteries, which fit into the cylindrical structure on the top, on which it rests. One thing that must be noted is that your PC or laptop must be running Mac OS X Snow Leopard v10.6.4. Apple recommends that you get the latest software update to take full advantage of what the trackpad has to offer.
