If the Dot Pitch is smaller, the image will be sharper. Stripe Pitch on the other hand is the measurement used in Trinitron or Diamond Ron monitors. This represents the space between two stripes of same colour.  Lower Stripe Pitch is desirable. As already mentioned, all these technical specifications are beyond the comprehension of a lay person who operates a computer. Similarly resolution of a widescreen monitor, display ratios etc are important factors while choosing a computer monitor. Again, installation of a new monitor for an existing system requires utmost care to make them compatible. It is advisable to follow the installation CD provided along with the monitor wherever necessary.
