1. Dilute luke warm water and isopropyl alcohol in the ratio of 50:50. (You can get isopropyl alcohol from the store easily).
2. Switch off the TV. Wet the microfiber cloth with the diluted iso propyl alcohol and gently wipe the screen.
3. Now fill the scratches with vaseline and by using a q-tip push the vaseline gently in to the scratches so that the vaseline gets filled in completely.
4. Wipe off the excess vaseline that is outside the scratch with a dry micro-fiber cloth.

Removing scratches from a CRT screen is a difficult job and may at times cost you more than the worth of the television set itself. Use caution and try to remove the scratches by using some solvents without actually ruining the screen. You may have to replace the film of the television altogether.

1. Check for the depth of the scratch on the screen. The deeper the scratch is, the more difficult it would be to remove the scratch.
2. Turn off the screen and wet the corner of a cloth with water or cleaning solution that contains no abrasives or solvents.
3. Gently wipe over the scratch in circular motion. And after some time wipe the screen in up and down motion. Then dry the screen with the dry end of the cloth in circular motion. Repeat the process again if necessary but be cautious.
4. You can remove the anti-reflective screen if the scratch is deep or if the screen gets damaged while cleaning it. Peel off both the purple layer and the green layer.
5. The screen can be buffed after removing the film if the glass is damaged under the film.
6. If necessary you can use glass repair solution instead of water to clean the screen. Here you can use abrasive motions to clean the screen.
7. Now apply the new film on the screen. And see to that the new film matches the properties of the old film. Next turn on the monitor and adjust the gray-scale tracking until the luminance and the colour are not disordered.
