Ultra compact digital camera
Ultra compact digital camera are built to take quality photos. These camera are light weight, very small, easy to carry and easy to use. Some camera models can be easily slipped in to the pocket. They come with fewer features than the compact cameras. These features include viewfinder and manual controls. Though the dials and buttons are small they work well.
Compact digital camera
These cameras are lightweight, compact and convenient for point and shoot facility. They come with scene modes that are automatic, while some models come with semi-automatic and manual control. Even the cheapest quality cameras deliver good image quality.
Digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera
These types of cameras are used by photo enthusiasts and professionals. They come with outstanding optics, interchangeable lens facility, high resolution and accessories. These cameras perform much better in low light than those cameras that have small sensors. These cameras come with full range of manual controls. Only the DSLR body can be purchased and the lens must be purchased separately. Cameras come in different levels such as entry level, mid level and professional level.
Advanced digital camera
These consumers come with features that lie somewhere between the professional and the consumer. They come with advanced features for creative control and high quality lens. Some cameras come with telephoto zooms while other cameras come with wide angle. Few other cameras come with zoom range level varying from wide to super telephoto. Advanced digital cameras are built to accept accessories such as filters, converter lenses, external flashes and remote controls.
Micro four thirds camera
These type of camera was first introduced by Panasonic in the year 2008. They do not come with optical viewfinder or reflex mirrors. These cameras are built with large sensors like those built in DSLR and accept interchangeable lenses.
Interchangeable lens unit camera system
This type of camera was introduced by Ricoh in the year 2009. It consists of separate camera units and a body. Each of the camera unit comes with an image processing engine, image sensor and a different lens. Lens unit are build to easily fit in to the camera body. Each lens unit comes with different focal length and thus have different sensor. |
